Growing up my older sister had (I think she still has, actually) tons of amazing paper dolls. The kind that had to be carefully cut out with scissors, as opposed the the kind I had which popped out along perforated lines.
I adored those paper dolls and envied my sister her collection and patience in curating it. And, fortunately, I played with them (some) when Jesse was feeling generous.
I've had so much fun making my felt doll and magnet doll patterns, and I think part of that goes back to creating elaborate stories about the Dolly Dingle paper dolls I so coveted. I've been wanting to adapt my patterns for actual paper-paper dolls but wasn't sure if it would work. A little nudge from Sara and I gave it a try.
I'm now at the coloring stage (you can see Junah helped in her own way on my test set). I'm using Paint.net to color the images and I'm undecided whether I'll offer a black and white version that people can color themselves. Probably will. I'm kind of dreaming of making a set and painting it with watercolors.
Each sheet is divided into two sections so a booklet can be made (cover provided too) and presented as a gift. Tucked into an Easter basket maybe? Hopefully! I'm trying to get everything finished but (as right now) I often have someone pulling on my shirt, crying, "Momma!" so the going is a bit slow.
